So this is my second try and building custom weapons for WoW . What you basically do in this process is just build an object, then run it through around 4 programs that convert into something else and then build a patch that replaces the skin of a weapon already in game. Because this is something that only happens on your computer your the only one able to see the change or other people that have the patch as well.

of course i am always willing to share stuff so here ya go [link] . This file contains 2 patches:

patch-z.mpq (this is a big version)
patch-u.mpq (this is a small version)

what you need to do is just:

1.extract the rar file.
2.copy the patch file you want to the data folder in your WoW directory
3. start the game or restart the game if you already had it open.

If you want to remove it just delete the patch

I heard from some people it work and from some that it doesn't .. i have no idea yet why that is, becuase i am pretty new to creating patches and such .. if i find a solid solution i will be sure to update this deviation. This patch replaces the Void-talon and Nexus-claw you can buy at a vendor in stormspire (netherstorm). This means it also replaces the fist weapons from Zul Gurub ;D.

you won't be banned by blizzard for doing this because it only changes graphics and not the gameplay (so blizzard won't even bother to check). Model edits that will get you banned are world edits in where you dig tunnels in instances for example so you can walk straight to a boss for example (so it gives you an advantage).
